Rather than LPN's on the halls they are mostly staffed with Med Techs who have little or no knowledge of the patients. New ones show up daily and can rarely answer questions about patient status when asked. A facility that is responsible for the health and well being of patients should not be focused on profit but on quality patient care.

All visitors MUST receive or present a “negative” test result in order to enter the facility. The last time this data was collected they cared for at least 95 men and 172 women in a one year period that received Medicare benefits. A Place for Mom is paid by our participating communities, therefore our service is offered at no charge to families.

My brother was a resident at Brian Center for nearly 9 years with a progressive illness. The staff took care of him every step of the way with professionalism. They maintained close communication with me and always showed a caring attitude towards my brother.

The person looking after him was not told when the man died, or even was informed of his condition after going back to the facility. More than $15 million in phony rent payments were mad to Cold Spring Realty — which just so happens to be owned by the same people who operate the nursing home, the investigation found. There was also more than $5 million allegedly paid for what was said to be "consulting."

The staff has great communication and love for the residents and the familys. The "complex network of companies" was also used to hide the real owners. Another patient who was there for five months after a stroke said she only received three showers in that time. A man who was badly injured in a car crash lost 30 pounds as a result of the care at the rehab center, according to the attorney general, and his condition worsened during his time there.

The facility is run down and simply not up to standards. The residents smell as if they are not changed or bathed properly. Every visit to my grandmother's room and I have to request her be changed and bathed. A entertainment room that live musicians play in and the residents can play bingo. Also, there is a beauty center to give hairstyles and manicures to residents. I simply love seeing the smiles the staff puts on my grandmother's face but the hygiene there is terrible.

If you are looking for luxury in the rooms, go somewhere else. However, if you want to have a caring professional staff, this is the place for you or a loved one. As a resident you are treated like family and I could have sworn that grandma was in the kitchen cooking. There is an activity center for bingo, and various games, etc.
Thank you to the Nurses for your tireless efforts to keep Grandma comfortable!"
I would highly recommend them and wish to thank them for their service to him. Anything you can share will help other families choose the perfect community. This was the most unclean facility I have ever been in. The management does not know what they are doing and my grandparent got sent to the wrong facility to have a procedure done outside of the brian center.
My husband was cared for here for a month before his death. I visited frequently, at different times of day and night, and always found the place clean and well staffed. My husband was happy here, all his needs were met, and I could not have asked for better care.

He would later be admitted to the hospital for severe malnutrition, dehydration, a worsening pressure injury and a bone infection in his right foot. During the first few months of the pandemic, from March to June of 2020 when nursing home staffing across the country was stretched beyond thin, 166 Cold Spring Hills residents died, 98 of which were from COVID. The facility failed to report 51 of those deaths to the state's DOH, the lawsuit stated, a fraudulent underreporting by more than 50 percent. Please note that visitors will be required to submit a negative COVID-19 test , use PPE as well as maintain social distancing during visits at the facility.
I can not say anything good about this facility at all. Diverted $8.1 million through a pretend services and supplies company. Delivering quality care for people living with Huntington’s Disease and ALS.

I did some research of my own after the fact, and found out that during my cousin's stay, the Brian center only had ONE CNA for every 28 patients. That is ridiculous, abusive, and I can't think of enough words to describe my utter disgust for a place that treats people like this. I have reported all this to the appropriate agencies/people and I'm not sure what came of it. We got her out of there and I hope they get shut down. I'm only giving them a 1 star rating because there are no negative stars.
